About Us
Winter 2025 update: The Department for Education AI tools for education programme will have a huge impact on Graffinity’s development. It enables us to deepen our collaboration with UCL’s Institute of Education and the Knowledge Lab, as well as the Advanced Research Computing Centre and the Centre for Digital Innovation, helping to extend our knowledge graph technology to create an evidence-based AI formative assessment tool for teachers and schools.

Graffinity grew out of a desire to create more visual ways to search, structure and share information. As we tested prototypes with different groups, people kept telling us they wish they or their children had this at school.
Now we are developing a new knowledge mapping application that is intended to promote active learning and give teachers a window into the thought processes of their students. It’s not just about what they know, but how they know it.
Our mapping tool will help teachers engage with a diverse spectrum of learners and more effectively identify gaps in student understanding and adjust their teaching strategies and feedback accordingly.
